Brokkr Provides Positive Progress Update

VANCOUVER, BC, October 29, 2021 – Brokkr Resources Corporation (“Brokkr”) is pleased to report that it has made significant strides toward validating critical elements of its green mineral processing chemistry.

Brokkr’s underlying technology is based on entirely novel approaches and designed to process complex ore bodies on-site, with significantly lower costs and reduced carbon and other environmental impacts. Ultimately, Brokkr’s endpoint is to unlock previously intractable or uneconomic strategic metal deposits.

Brokkr’s focus so far has been on nickel laterites, a geology that hosts over 70% of the world’s nickel but has proved enormously expensive in CAPEX terms to convert into production. Notoriously, nickel laterite processing is also associated with some of the highest carbon costs in the industry. In laboratory trials, Brokkr’s proprietary solution is now delivering greater than 70%+ nickel recovery from laterite samples. As a result, Brokkr has now committed to a programme of scale-up experiments that will be completed in the first quarter of 2023 as a precursor to moving into field trials.

Commenting on today’s announcement, John Davies, Syniad’s CEO, said, “It’s great to see these outstanding technical results come through from Brokkr. Strategic metals will become the new geopolitical challenge of our time as the world moves from a hydrocarbon-intensive to a metal-intensive electrification system. The mining industry has started to see the emergence of novel mineral processing technologies, especially in copper and lithium circuits. Brokkr’s focus on nickel laterites is a genuine differentiator, with a huge potential impact for electric vehicle production.”

ABOUT Brokkor Resources

Brokkr develops easy-to-adapt solutions for mineral processing in complex ore bodies and low-grade deposits. Using selective peptide binding technologies paired with bioleaching solutions, Brokkr extracts and processes metals needed for clean energy systems without disrupting the current mining processes. Brokkr’s solutions have been validated at the bench scale with high recovery rates across several different metals. Extensive testing, to date, implies that Brokkr solutions provide a cost-effective alternative to current mineral processing techniques that would enable the recovery of strategic metals from low-grade and high-grade ores with reduced GHG emissions and lower overall environmental risk. Brokkr is currently scaling up its solutions and expects to begin pilot plant operations soon after.
